Hi! My name is Victoria, and I’m entering my senior year at the University of Rochester. I’m majoring in Neuroscience with a minor in Philosophy, and I’m on the pre-med track which has really helped me develop strong learning and study strategies. Outside of class, I’m an EMT, and I also love playing tennis in my free time. But one of my favorite things to do? Tutoring!
During college, I volunteered with Project Grow for a few months tutoring middle schoolers in reading and math and I loved seeing how a little extra help and encouragement can make such a big difference. Algebra 1 was actually my favorite class in 8th grade. I still remember how satisfying it felt when things started to “click,” and I want to help other students feel that same confidence. My goal is to make learning a positive experience instead of a stressful one.
When I tutor, I always start with the basics and go at the student’s pace. I focus on making concepts understandable, not overwhelming. Every student is different, so we’ll work together as a team to figure out what works best whether that’s practice problems, visual aids, study strategies, or just talking through tough concepts. My goal is always to help students truly understand the material and feel confident walking into class or a test.
If you're looking for someone upbeat, supportive, and serious about helping your student succeed, then I’d love to work together!
