I am a recent graduate from Boston College, and am a certified high school guidance counselor. I am proficient in the college application process as well as tools and tips for being successful in high school and college. Through my undergraduate career at UConn, I worked with students on academic probation to help them get back on track. This involved working on things like time management, organization, note-taking skills, active reading skills, etc. I worked with this program for 4 years as an undergraduate and as a full-time staff person after I graduated in 2012. While in Boston, I worked in a local high school assisting students with the college process, including essay writing, filling out applications, and writing recommendation letters. I also worked with freshmen and sophomores on academic skills for success.

I understand that every student is different in the way that they learn and process information. I make an effort to get to know the students I work with and build a relationship that will help the learning process. I am very well practiced in one-on-one work with students and pride myself on achieving results!

I was an English major through college and did many writing internships, including one at the Hartford Courant. After graduation, I became a freelance writer from the American Society of Animal Science and have been published online many times. I enjoy proofreading and have a very critical eye. I pride myself on being a great writer and my ability to help others do the same. As a guidance counselor, I understand what a college essay should look like and what Admissions offices are looking for, so I can help students craft these types of essays and develop their writing skills at the same time.
