I'm Ali, a certified educator with a passion for helping students discover confidence and joy in learning. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in English with honors, graduating summa cum laude from the University of Connecticut, where I focused on 19th-century British literature, and went on to complete my Master’s in Education at Quinnipiac University while teaching full-time. I spent four years in the high school classroom, and I now homeschool my own children, giving me hands-on experience with learners at every grade level. I’m also a certified EBLI (Evidence-Based Literacy Instruction) tutor, trained in methods that build deep literacy skills for struggling readers.
In both English and Math, I believe every student deserves the chance to start where they are and build forward. I know firsthand what it’s like to feel behind. I once thought I wasn’t a “math person” until I realized I’d simply missed essential early foundations. Now, I love helping students fill those gaps and experience what it feels like when learning clicks. For English (from pre-k through college) or Math (pre-k through pre-algebra), I can tailor lessons using research-backed approaches.
I’m passionate about student-led learning, whether that means getting ahead in a subject that excites them or building skills where they’ve struggled. I also offer customized classes in literature, poetry, and essay writing for students who want to dive deeper into English. My goal is to help every learner feel smart, seen, and capable, and to make learning fun along the way.
