I have a degree in elementary education, Summa Cum Laude graduate of City College of New York. I am a patient person who currently works with adults with developmental disabilities. I also love science fiction and superheroes.

Our tutoring session will begin with a warm smile. First we will find out what you already know and from there we will custom tailor a program based on your individual needs. You will build confidence and pride in your abilities and will find growth and success all while having fun!

While the old math relied on memorization of facts or procedures, the new standards calls for students to have a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and be to explain their reasoning. Many parents find the new math difficult to understand and find helping their children to be a frustrating experience. I'm here to help because math isn't about drills, it's really about application and problem solving with one ultimate goal in mind. The child grows into an adult who can solve complex problems in their head.

Teaching the love of reading begins with finding out exactly where the student is regarding level and comprehension. Students learn best reading about topics that interest them personally. Learning more comes from practice and phonics games.

The key to learning science is based on age and level appropriate hands-on, inquiry-based approach. It is important to teach the student scientific literacy and the joy of discovery.
