I am passionate about teaching and have spent four years as a full-time middle and high school teacher and 10 years as a tutor in the New York City metro area. I currently serve as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Princeton University in the Department of African American Studies. I am passionate about culturally relevant instruction and making every student feel seen and valued. I hold a BA in American Studies from Brown University with a focus on African American freedom movements; an MA in English and Comparative Literature with a focus on African American Literature; and a PhD in English from Vanderbilt University with a focus in African American Literary Studies. I have published over a half-dozen peer-reviewed articles on African American Literature. My first book, on the Black radical teaching tradition, is coming out from Harvard Education Press in 2027-2028.
