I have a great passion for making complex concepts accessible to everyone. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, where I developed a rigorous foundation in both theoretical and applied mathematics. My current professional experience as an engineer allows me to bring math to life for my students by demonstrating how calculus and algebra are utilized in real-world problem-solving. Whether I am helping a student navigate the SAT/ACT or diving into advanced multivariable calculus, my goal is to bridge the gap between abstract formulas and practical understanding.

During my four years at Johns Hopkins, I spent two years specifically as a tutor for Calculus I, II, and III. In this role, I designed and led intensive 90-minute lesson plans for small groups of up to six students. This experience taught me how to break down high-level concepts into digestible, "lightbulb" moments. I specialize in using high-quality digital visuals and resources, as I believe that seeing a mathematical concept, such as the visualization of a 3D integral or the slope of a tangent line, is often the key to truly mastering it.

What sets me apart as a tutor is that I prioritize creating a non-judgmental, collaborative space where students feel safe to ponder out loud, ask any questions, and make mistakes. My previous students frequently cite my patience and kindness as the reasons they felt comfortable tackling subjects with me that previously felt intimidating or out of reach.

I am committed to the idea that any topic, no matter how complex, can and should be broken down into simpler terms. In my career as an engineer, I've learned that the most complex systems are just a collection of simple parts. By combining my technical proficiency with a supportive and engaging teaching style, I help my students build the confidence they need to succeed wherever life takes them.
