I am a writer and teacher with a Master's degree in English. I have written two poetry collections—Dragonfly Satori and Mimesis Flash & Simulacra—and a novel called Meow. Because I am a practicing writer, I understand the challenges of putting words on the page, and I teach writing the way I approach my own work: with attention to what actually makes writing clear, strong, and effective. My teaching focuses on four core principles—clarity, precision, confidence, and craft. I believe good writing comes from understanding principles deeply enough that they become natural habits. Whether you are working on essays, creative projects, or any other kind of writing, I will help you develop your own voice while learning the skills that make your writing work.
I teach by showing you specific patterns in your writing and helping you recognize what strengthens or weakens your work. Instead of just fixing problems in one paper, I help you understand why something works or does not work so you can improve on your own. My approach is about learning to trust your ideas enough to present them directly, cutting unnecessary explanation, and making every sentence do real work. I focus on helping you understand that different writing situations need different approaches—an essay for English class needs different choices than a college application or a creative piece. My goal is to help you become a more aware, skilled writer who can look at your own work, see what needs improvement, and know how to make it better. Writing is a skill that improves with practice and good feedback, and I am here to guide that process.
