Hi there! My name is Doriana, and I'm originally from Santiago, Chile! I graduated the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (or AMDA) with a BFA in acting. I was taught by some of the best industry professionals, and am now a working actor myself.
I was a tutor at Trewhela's English School for 2 years, teaching English and Reading to high schoolers, as well as being a teaching assistant in our Drama after-school class. Once I moved to the states, I did some independent tutoring in Spanish as well! Being bilingual, I've always offered classes both in English or Spanish.
I believe classes should be tailored around the student. This is why I mostly do one-on-one sessions: a class for someone who has never done acting before, and a class for someone who is auditioning for a professional production can be very different. I always build the class around my students' goals, so I can give them the specific tools they need to reach them.
I understand the importance of monologues as a professional actor, but also as someone who had to audition to get into acting school once. I remember distinctly how, once in college, we had several monologue workshops and classes, and every time I wished someone had given me those pointers sooner! You don't need to be a professional to get into acting school, they'll take care of you once you're there. But to get in, you need your monologues. That's why I'm specializing in monologue coaching — to give you the best chance at giving a killer audition!
Monologues are incredibly important for an actor; whether you are auditioning for a college, a play, or simply want to exercise those acting muscles, your audition monologue is your 90 second chance to win someone over. Learn how to make the best out of it!
I am looking forward to working together soon!
