For over twenty years, I have taught and tutored students of all ages in various subjects and for various standardized tests and preparatory exams. I approach every student individually and am extremely patient regarding their stresses, test anxieties, perfectionism, and focus struggles. For over twenty years, I have taught and tutored students of all ages in various subjects and for various standardized tests and preparatory exams. I approach every student individually and am extremely patient regarding their stresses, test anxieties, perfectionism, and focus struggles. My tutoring experience has been incredibly positive, and I have helped students from elementary through college graduate levels find success in their academic endeavors.

To explain a bit of my academic background, I was an elementary school teacher from 2004-2009 (including the first year of Common Core curriculum implementation) and in 2017 earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. I earned a score of 32 on the American College Test (ACT) in my junior year of high school and was in the top 15% of Praxis test-takers in 2009. I graduated with honors from Mississippi College and Jackson State University, and my academic skills are strongest in mathematics, English, reading, and writing. I have a wide variety of interests, so making connections for my students and helping them understand real-life situations that relate to their studies comes easily for me.

I believe the most important first step in being a successful tutor is making sure the student in your care feels calm and confident. I have experience working with adults and children who struggle with learning disabilities as well as perfectionism and test anxiety. If I work with you or your child, you will not feel stressed by my style of teaching, and I will calmly and efficiently guide you every step of the way to your assured success.

It is true she is very patient and she's very honest and when working with a problem she will let you go at your own pace and show you step by step. I think that Jess Is a wonderful tutor to recommend to all ages of people. I am 21 years old and I always dreaded having to take any type of math class I never understood it to the best of my ability. Fractions I just could not comprehend how to do them in all my years of schooling I spent one day with Jess Learning about them And Now I can understand how to do them. I look forward to keep working with Jess to learn more things that I thought were complex. Jess knows how to Break any lesson down to a simple form for anybody to learn and understand
