I am a potential MFA candidate looking to sure experience, skills, and art philosophy. My work deals with the dynamics of organic forms. My strongest influence has been botanical art. My parents are both avid antique collectors, because of this I have a strong interest in art history and art objects. All these experiences have found their way into my work. Some may say that I am as much a sculptor as a painter, as I love to explore the plasticity of paper. I have studied art in several venues. I majored in art and art history at Clark University during my college years.
My Mediums are watercolor, and at times chalk pastel. Recently, my work has veered into watercolor collages which are sewn together. I have taken classes at Connecticut College, and Lyme Academy of Fine Arts. I also hold a Certificate of Decorative Painting from R.I.S.D. I have earned a Katerine Forrest Craft Award. I have also been accepted into several MFA programs. My work has increasingly become more symbolic and narrative oriented. The work engages the picture plain and burst out of it. Work is aesthetically pleasing but also focused on social relevance. I know what graduate programs are looking for and can help guide students in this ambition. Anyone who wants to take work to the next level should consider working with me.
I am a watercolorist who has become known for a collage format. My methods rely on an intuitive, emotive way of working. I work best with individuals who have a basic art background, want to work on independent projects. I have studied watercolor and drawing at Lyme Academy and Connecticut College. During college, I studied issues of pictorial composition.
