I have a masters degree in education and over 10 years of experience with 1 to 1 tutoring and classroom teaching. I tutor all areas in K – 8 and high school language arts, social studies and test prep. I have worked as a teacher, substitute, and tutor with students in most math curriculums: Common Core, Everyday Math, New Math, Singapore Math (in Singapore), Imagine Math, Math Counts, Challenge Math, and Math Olympiad.

Elementary students with whom I have worked significantly increased grades while enjoying teaching sessions that are packed with fun learning activities. In addition, I can help with science projects and other long-term assignments. I have also successfully prepared students for the ISEE, SAT, ACT, AP US History, AP European History, and the AP Language and Literature tests. Students whom I have tutored for these tests have scored well on all sections. I also edit all high school papers and projects, including college admission essays.

If a student has fallen behind, I can help turn the situation around. I use proven assessments to quickly formulate an individualized curriculum. My lesson plans make efficient use of study time and give each student tools for improvement in the classroom and on tests. During these tutoring sessions, I also impart and reinforce general study and organizational skills. I make sure that tutoring sessions remain positive and paced just right for each situation. I particularly enjoy helping students raise academic achievement levels while also increasing confidence – confidence that comes from knowledge and a pattern of success.
