Hi, I'm Mohamed, but you can call me "Momo"! I'm a Stanford University graduate with a B.S. in Engineering - Biomedical Computation.
Post-graduation, I worked as a Research Associate at the Yale School of Medicine, where I conducted neuroscience and Alzheimer's disease research. My academic background combines biology, chemistry, mathematics, computer science, and scientific writing, allowing me to help students build both subject mastery and effective study skills. Throughout my education and research career, I have developed a strong ability to explain complex concepts clearly, engagingly, and approachably.
For several years, I have worked with students in both formal and informal teaching settings. As a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), I provide individualized instruction to children and adolescents ranging from preschool age through young adulthood. This role has strengthened my ability to adapt lessons to different learning styles and break down challenging material into manageable steps. I have also mentored peers and younger students through research programs, college preparation, and STEM coursework, providing one-on-one guidance tailored to each student's goals and strengths.
My tutoring approach focuses on understanding rather than memorization. I believe students learn best when they actively engage with material, ask questions, and develop problem-solving strategies they can apply independently. Whether I am helping a middle school student build foundational skills, supporting a high school student preparing for advanced science courses, or assisting a college student with biology, chemistry, statistics, or research methods, I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and growing from them. My goal is not only to improve grades and test performance but also to help students develop the confidence and critical thinking skills needed for long-term academic success! :)
