Hi! I’m Kelly, a freshman at Yale University double majoring in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology (MCDB) and History of Science, Medicine, and Public Health (HSHM). I’m passionate about science, language, and helping students build confidence in subjects that can sometimes feel overwhelming.
Before coming to Yale, I conducted biomedical research at the University of Michigan School of Medicine, where I developed strong analytical and problem-solving skills and gained experience explaining complex scientific ideas clearly. My academic background has given me a strong foundation in biology, chemistry, and scientific reasoning, and I enjoy helping students understand how these subjects work rather than just memorizing information.
I specialize in tutoring Spanish, biology, and chemistry. My teaching approach focuses on breaking down complicated concepts into clear, manageable steps while adapting to each student’s learning style. I aim to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing real understanding. Whether we’re working through practice problems, reviewing class material, or preparing for exams, my goal is to help students gain both confidence and independence in their learning.
I’m also excited about tutoring because I genuinely enjoy sharing knowledge and helping students discover that they are capable of mastering challenging material. Seeing a concept “click” for someone is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching.
For tutoring logistics, I’m happy to offer a brief introductory conversation so we can discuss goals, learning styles, and how I can best help. I ask that students provide advance notice if they need to cancel or reschedule a lesson.
If you’re looking for a patient and supportive tutor for Spanish, biology, or chemistry, I’d love to work with you. Feel free to reach out to learn more or schedule a lesson!
