I have been studying architecture, architectural history and theory as well as urban planning from a very young age. After getting degrees at Yale (Bachelor’s) and Harvard (Master’s) as well as a year of graduate coursework at University of Cambridge, I have worked for architects in New York City and Birmingham, AL as well as running my own firm for many years.
I have taught undergraduate architectural seminar and studio classes at Auburn University Urban Studio in Birmingham. This involved lectures, group critiques and one-on-one teaching. My own office has provided an intense mentoring environment for both younger employees and high school students on internships. I enjoy tackling simple to complex problems with others and exploring creative solutions. Learning is a two-way street and I’m always enriched and challenged by working on issues with in a collaborative way.
I am patient, a good listener, and experienced in many different aspects of design. I have studied, worked and traveled amongst diverse people and in diverse environments which gives me a broad perspective on the wonderfully infinite universe of architecture.
