I have a strong academic background in STEM, with formal training in chemical and environmental engineering and extensive coursework in mathematics, chemistry, and related quantitative subjects at MIT and Yale. Additionally, in high school, I took 12 AP classes, earned 5's on 10 of them, and scored above a 1500 on the SAT. My college and high school education has required a deep understanding of foundational concepts as well as the ability to apply them to complex problems, which is a skill I bring directly into my tutoring. I am especially comfortable tutoring general chemistry, SAT math, SAT reading and writing, and I enjoy helping students build confidence in subjects that can initially feel intimidating.
What I enjoy most about tutoring is helping students move from frustration to confidence. I aim to create a supportive, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process. I am patient, organized, and committed to helping students reach their academic goals, whether that means improving grades, preparing for exams, or simply feeling more comfortable with the material.
