Hi, I'm James! I recently graduated magna cum laude in Political Science from Trinity College in Hartford, and I’ve always enjoyed helping others learn. During college, I served as a first-year mentor and as class president, supporting students both academically and personally. Those experiences taught me the importance of patience, communication, and adapting to different learning styles. I also have experience tutoring in political science, writing, history, and the humanities, and I help students prepare for standardized tests such as the SAT, ACT, and AP exams. Outside of academics, I enjoy training for marathons, which has reinforced the value of discipline, persistence, and celebrating progress along the way.
Throughout my own education, I noticed that many instructors struggled to explain subjects beyond the ways in which they had first learned them. Because of this, I make it a priority to meet students where they are, customizing my teaching methods to match each individual’s needs. In my sessions, students can expect an encouraging, engaging environment where complex concepts are broken down into clear, manageable steps. My goal is not only to help students understand the material but also to build their confidence, independence, and long-term success in learning.
