I’m Amy! I graduated magna cum laude with a Master’s degree in History and also hold a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Psychology & Sociology. In graduate school, I focused on making history feel relevant and accessible by connecting it to creativity and everyday life. I design lessons that aren’t just informative, but also interactive, engaging, and memorable for each student.

I have over ten years of experience tutoring and teaching students from elementary through college, with a special focus on grades 3–9. Along with history and social studies, I also help middle school, high school, and college students with essay writing and thesis development. I’ve taught in both virtual classrooms and one-on-one settings, working with students throughout the school year as well as during summer enrichment lessons. In many cases, I’ve met with students daily during the week, helping them build skills in world history, writing, and critical thinking step by step. My lessons are never “one size fits all.” Instead, I tailor content to each student’s learning style and interests. That might mean exploring history through comics, videos, role play, songs, or even video games, or breaking down essays into manageable steps so writing feels clear and doable. I also like to weave in current events so students can see how history and writing connect directly to their world.

I want to benefit the students I work with as much as possible, therefore welcome any resources or suggestions students or parents can provide. I also offer a free consultation meeting and ask for 24-hour notice for cancellations or rescheduling. I am easy to reach and will always provide fast responses. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson!

Essay Writing

Essay Writing

I hold a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies and an M.A. in History, where I focused heavily on research and writing. For over 10 years, I’ve worked with high school and college students on essays, research papers, and academic projects. My tutoring emphasizes thesis development, idea organization, and building strong arguments rather than grammar drills. I also use creative tools such as visual mapping, comics, and doodles to help students brainstorm and approach writing with clarity and confidence.
Thesis Writing

Thesis Writing

With an M.A. in History and a background in interdisciplinary research, I have guided students through the process of writing complex, long-form papers. I help students strengthen their thesis statements, organize chapters or sections, and integrate evidence into a clear argument. My approach breaks down big projects into manageable steps while keeping the student’s voice and goals at the center. I also use creative methods, like mind maps and visual brainstorming, to help students move past writer’s block and structure their ideas effectively.
