I am currently a masters student at Yale University, pursuing a degree in Chronic Disease Epidemiology. I've graduated from Brown University with my B.Sc. in Biology (track in Immunology) and my B.A. in Public Health. I have been a part of multiple research experiences that have enhanced my understanding of different areas of STEM and currently work on a research team at Yale investigating breast cancer.
I have been tutoring since 2017, mostly in one-on-one sessions with students. Most of the students I have worked with are in high school, but some have also been in middle school. The subjects I specialize in are mathematics and sciences, with a willingness to assist in other subjects such as English and History. For math, I tutor in subjects up to Calculus; sciences, I work best with Biology and Chemistry. Most one-on-one sessions consist of me and the student working together through examples and their homework to apply the knowledge they need to learn. I also occasionally provide unit notes per request, based on the subject we are reviewing. I also have experience as a teaching assistant at Brown University for biology courses. From this, I have experience in creating lectures on certain topics and teaching through slide decks. I have occasionally done this technique for one-on-one or small group tutoring when students don't have specific work they want to review, but do have overarching topics they want to go over. Depending on tutoring sessions, I will send students review notes of what we had gone over or the lecture slides that I may make for the session.
