I have seven years of experience teaching writing composition at the college level. I have a PhD in English Literature and Women's & Gender Studies from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor’s of Arts (English) degree from Duke University. I have taught at Duke University, the University of Michigan, worked in admissions, and currently teach first-year college writing at the Rhode Island School of Design.
My students have written successful applications, cover letters, personal statements, artist statements, and essays to get accepted into their dream schools, hired for internships and jobs, and selected for grants and fellowships.
I also have experience supporting students with ADHD and have additional expertise in topics related to race, gender, sexuality. I am uniquely qualified to support clients navigating challenges with learning and/or how to express their differences.
