I have a Bachelor in Professional Writing from the University of Western Connecticut. I've been published three times and currently am working on a fourth. I have over ten years of experience as a journalist covering a range of subjects from movies to sports to current events.

I'm a TEFL-certified teacher and trained to create Presentation, Practice, and Production (PPP) and Test Teach Test (TTT) lesson plans. I believe using different methods that target specific skills can help set up a healthy foundation of what works and what needs work. Together with my students, I will produce a personalized and productive lesson plan that will engage and enlighten.

I have studied Spanish and Portuguese heavily, but also know Italian, French, Dutch, German, Norwegian, Danish, and Swedish. By being a student of other languages, I understand the many challenges that people face when learning a language. I incorporate this knowledge into my teaching style. A mix of patience, compassion, and at times encouragement goes a long way toward being an effective teacher.

I've grown a tremendous amount over my first year of teaching and am eager to continue helping others. I've prepared people for major tests like the TOEFL and PSATs. I've taught creative writing, essay structure, reading comprehension, and world history. I mix conversational topics with tactics similar or associated with TOEFL exams.
