Hello, my name is Jack R. I am currently an educator at a local high school. I work as a director of a community service and leadership development program. I miss working as a math teacher and would love to get back into supporting students growth in education! I have been in education for 7 years. I started my career at the University of Maryland obtaining my degree in elementary education with a specialty in mathematics. From there I taught 2 years in Baltimore County MD as a 6th and 7th grade math teacher. Since moving back to Connecticut I have taught middle school math at Mooreland Hill School, a private school in central Connecticut. Now I am currently at a high school.
I love teaching and working with students. I have always wanted to be a teacher ever since middle school. I feel I connect well with students because I wasn’t the best student myself. I had learning struggles but that is why I feel like I am such a good teacher, I can connect with many students and their struggles.
With my experience at many different levels, elementary, middle school, and high school, I truly have a good understanding of the progression of skills that make a student successful! My experience is in elementary and middle school math, which allows me to use make different tools that make math fun and engaging!
I would love to get to know your students needs and how I can help them reach their goal or build a great confidence in math!
