My love for teaching is extended to all of my students! Every child learns differently and through my experience as a Certified Teacher in NY for two years, a Catholic Teacher with NY certification in CT, and now as a substitute teacher/ tutor in CT I know each student needs individualized attention and praise.

I incorporate study skills as a foundation in my tutoring which has been proven to help students academically but also build self-confidence. Every child can have success!

I began tutoring in math in 2000. I utilized my college techniques and classroom style to successfully assist a fifth grader to excel in math after he learned there were many ways to problem solve a problem as long as you can prove your method. This along with learning study skills helped him to go from disliking math to loving it.

As well as tutoring for 17 years, I have taught reading skills both in the classroom and at summer school for three years with proven results. Letters of Recommendation available upon request.

I have informally mentored new teachers on ways that help students learn and feel good about school. I incorporate many ways of teaching to make learning fun. These include educational songs, puzzles, and video that assist in not only learning the subject matter but also creates curiosity to learn more.
