I have over 22 years of experience working with children in educational settings, including 16 years as a classroom teacher at the elementary level and my current role as a Library Media Specialist. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Reading, and a Sixth-Year Degree in Special Education, along with multiple additional certifications that support my work with diverse learners. My educational background has given me a strong foundation in child development, literacy instruction, and individualized learning support.
Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students across a range of ages, learning styles, and ability levels in whole-group classroom settings, small-group instruction, and one-on-one support. I am highly experienced in differentiating instruction, breaking down complex concepts, and using student-centered approaches to build confidence and academic success. I prioritize creating a positive, supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and asking questions.
In addition to my classroom experience, I have provided individualized instruction in both formal and informal settings, adapting lessons to meet each student’s academic and learning needs. My long-term experience in education, combined with my specialized training, allows me to effectively support students in developing strong foundational skills, effective study habits, and a lifelong love of learning.
