I am at Wesleyan University, as a sophomore majoring in Mathematics and Computer Science. I am part of the Math Workshop at Wesleyan, where I tutor my peers twice a week for 3 hours. I tutor in Algebra, Calculus, Discrete Math, and many other math subjects. I sit at a table, and students come up to me with any questions they have. When I don't fully recall a topic or am a little fuzzy on it, I go through the problem with the student, as if I were doing it myself. I look back at the textbook, noting any relevant definitions and write those down. Then, from there I ask the student questions to see their base of understanding. Then, I try my best to ask questions that lead to the final answer, and usually the student has an "aha" moment and is able to finish the problem from there.
Each student is in a different stage of their learning process and I will cater my tutoring to match your level. I am patient, flexible and committed to helping you set and achieve your goals. I can't wait to work with you and expand your knowledge!
