Dr. Khoa N. is currently an Associate Professor of Finance and Real Estate at Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU). He earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration with a concentration on Finance from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and his B.S. in Business Administration from The University of South Alabama. Over the past 5 years at SCSU, Dr. Nguyen has taught a number of undergraduate courses in Economics and Finance, such as, Principles of Microeconomics (EC0101),...

Dr. Khoa N. is currently an Associate Professor of Finance and Real Estate at Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU). He earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration with a concentration on Finance from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and his B.S. in Business Administration from The University of South Alabama. Over the past 5 years at SCSU, Dr. Nguyen has taught a number of undergraduate courses in Economics and Finance, such as, Principles of Microeconomics (EC0101), Corporate Finance (FIN300), Financial Markets and Institutions (FIN340), Treasury Management (FIN460), Commercial Banking (FIN343), and undergraduate independent study (FIN499). At the Graduate level, he has taught MBA independent study (MBA573), and mentored students on their research projects in the MBA 595, MBA Research
Seminar class. Dr. Nguyen's effective teaching skills have been appreciated by his colleagues and students. His student evaluations at SCSU are strong. The percentage of students' Agree and Strongly Agree in all rated categories is over 97% in recent years. He has also been nominated for the J. Phillip Smith Award for Outstanding Teacher in Spring 2019. Dr. Nguyen has used student-centered teaching approach in his classrooms and has created friendly learning environment to encourage student engagement. Dr. Nguyen has also published his scholarly works in several peer-reviewed journals, including Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, Applied Financial Economics, Empirical Economics, Global Business and Finance Review, International Journal of Corporate Governance, Managerial Finance, and Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance. Outside of academic life, Dr. Nguyen enjoys playing sports such as soccer, badminton, fishing, hiking, etc.

Dr. Khoa N is a great tutor in that he is very patient and caters to the student's needs. He helped me prepare for my upcoming mid-term exam, and now I feel confident in my ability to perform well.
