I am a certified classroom teacher currently in my tenth year of teaching, with a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts and a master’s degree in English Literature. Over the past decade, I have worked with students of varying ages, abilities, learning styles, and academic needs, with a particular focus on middle and high school English Language Arts and Humanities.

My areas of expertise include reading comprehension, literature, essay and academic writing, grammar, vocabulary, research, critical thinking, and general academic support. As an English teacher, I have extensive experience helping students plan, draft, revise, and strengthen their writing, from individual paragraphs to full analytical and argumentative essays. I can also help students interpret challenging texts, identify themes and literary techniques, develop evidence-based arguments, and communicate their ideas clearly.

Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students in whole-class, small-group, and individualized settings. I am experienced in supporting students who struggle academically or need material presented in a different way, as well as students who are already successful and want to take their reading and writing to the next level.

My approach to tutoring is patient, encouraging, and individualized. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I break difficult concepts and assignments into manageable steps, model skills when helpful, and adjust my explanations based on the individual student.

Because I am an active classroom teacher, I also understand what teachers are looking for in student work and what students are currently being asked to do in school. Whether a student needs ongoing English support, help with a difficult essay or reading assignment, test preparation, or simply someone to help them become a more confident reader and writer, I am happy to meet them where they are and help them move forward.
