Experienced Math and Physics Teacher/Tutor

Since before college I have been tutoring math and science to both peers and younger students. I continued this work through my undergraduate studies, working in my university's tutoring center, as a teacher's assistant where I led recitations and graded papers, and as a private tutor. I have continued tutoring privately through my career as a high school teacher. Through the years I have tutored anything ranging from elementary level math all the way to advanced college courses including Multivariable Calculus, Differential Equations, and high-level College Physics.
As a classroom teacher for over 8 years, I have experience designing and executing lessons in a variety of subjects ranging from integrated science classes to AP Physics and from Algebra 1 to AP Calculus.
In my classroom, I work tirelessly to differentiate instruction to each student's particular learning needs. I approach all my students by first assessing the needs and learning style of each student. I then use my expertise to help students build connections on their own to maximize long term growth and retention.
I take this same approach to students I tutor: rather than leading you to answers one by one, I do everything in my power to get you to a point where you can make the connections yourself to solve the problem in front of you. I have a variety of curricular resources at my disposal to help with instruction and a good deal more in the way of practice problems for a wide variety of subjects. However, every course is different with different expectations, and so I differentiate my approach to align to the format of your specific course.
