Retired Chemist - Current Adjunct

I retired from Amoco Chemical Corporation in May of 2000. I started teaching chemistry as an adjunct at Waubonsee Community College (a junior college outside Chicago) in January of 2001. At Waubonsee I was privileged to teach chemistry to a large variety of students of all ages and backgrounds and taught until 2010. I moved to Connecticut and in the fall of 2010 I started teaching as an adjunct at Fairfield University. I am currently an adjunct in the chemistry department at Fairfield. I have a BS from the College of Wooster and a MS and PhD from Princeton University.

Since individual tutoring is very expensive I would urge you to seek help first from your chemistry teacher and second from your friends who seem to be “getting it”. If these are not helpful to you or if you have been absent from school for any reason, then a private tutor may be the solution to your difficulty. Before starting a tutoring session, as well as you are able, try to determine exactly what is causing you to not do as well as you like. Specific chemistry problems that you are stuck on would be a good place to start. This will make our sessions as productive as possible. I look forward to hearing from you.
