I like to allow my students to drive our sessions with their own particular needs in mind. For some students, they only want help with school work, but for others, they prefer an immersion-oriented study session where we speak in the target language and avoid English completely. Some students skipped a year of the language due to a change in school, and want to review what they missed. Some students want to function as a group or class. Some students want to work with only native speakers as their instructors. Please let me know the direction you wish to go. I am very flexible.
When I was growing up, I was confined to seeking foreign language newspapers, listening to short wave radio, and my school classes to get instruction in the languages I studied. Nowadays, there are many more resources available. I think whatever works for you, should be the resource you use the most. For some, that might mean watching foreign language TV constantly, and for others, it might mean making as many native speaking acquaintances as possible, to practice with. But for others, it means a simple phone app, or workbooks you buy at the store. And then there are students for whom living in the country where they are fully immersed, all the time, is what they ultimately want to work towards. We all have our dreams, and we should work to achieve those things. I am here to help.
