Hello! My name is Niasha, and I’m a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) as well as a dedicated tutor with a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology. I'm currently pursuing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My educational background gives me a strong understanding of child development, motivation, and learning behavior, which I bring into every tutoring session to help students thrive academically and emotionally.

I have experience teaching and mentoring elementary-aged students (2nd–4th grade) through both one-on-one and small-group settings, focusing on reading comprehension, writing skills, and basic math. I also worked as a Life Skills Instructor, where I developed creative ways to teach communication, focus, and goal-setting skills — all of which translate into effective tutoring sessions that go beyond just academics.

My tutoring approach is student-centered, patient, and engaging. I tailor each lesson to a child’s individual learning style and pace, incorporating visual aids, positive reinforcement, and interactive techniques to make learning enjoyable and memorable. I believe that every child learns differently, and I take pride in helping students who may need extra encouragement or a different way of understanding concepts.

In each session, I focus on:

Strengthening academic fundamentals (reading, writing, and math)
Building confidence and study habits
Encouraging curiosity and independence in learning

Whether your child needs extra support to catch up or enrichment to stay ahead, I create a warm, structured environment where students feel motivated and capable of success.
