Hello! My name is Stacy and I just completed my third year of medical school. I earned my degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Connecticut and hold a Master's in Biomedical Sciences from Elms College. With over 15 years of teaching and tutoring experience, I’ve worked with a wide range of students, from elementary school children to college students and adult learners. I have taught in one-on-one sessions, group tutoring, volunteer programs, and classroom environments. My expertise spans several subjects, including math (elementary, algebra, statistics), science (elementary science, physics, chemistry), test preparation (SAT, MCAT), and coaching for leadership, public speaking, and school applications for college and medical school.

I tailor my tutoring to each student's unique learning style. I begin by assessing how the student processes information and then break down complex concepts into manageable steps. A key part of my approach is active learning, where students explain concepts in their own words to reinforce understanding. I use a variety of resources, including Khan Academy, UWorld, Kaplan, and Princeton Review, to ensure students are well-prepared for exams and can apply what they’ve learned to different contexts.

I’ve seen the positive impact of personalized tutoring, whether helping students raise test scores, gain admission to competitive programs, or develop skills for leadership and public speaking. My leadership experience, including serving as class president in medical school and working on the national board of a student-run medical organization, has further developed my ability to guide and inspire students. Whether you need short-term exam prep or long-term academic coaching, I’m here to support your educational journey and help you achieve your goals.

Career Development

Career Development

I have over 10 years of experience in public speaking, leadership, and professional development through roles in education, healthcare, and nonprofit organizations. As a campus tour guide and student leader, I developed expertise in communication, presentation skills, networking, and helping students navigate important academic and career decisions. I have also served on the boards of nonprofit organizations, where I gained experience in leadership, strategic planning, professional communication, and organizational development. Additionally, through my involvement with medical school admissions, I have mentored applicants and provided guidance on professional growth, interviewing, application preparation, and career planning for students pursuing competitive professional programs.
Personal Statements

Personal Statements

I have extensive experience crafting and refining personal statements for competitive academic programs, including college, master's programs, and medical school. As a successful medical school applicant with multiple acceptances, I understand how to develop a compelling narrative that highlights an applicant's unique experiences and strengths. In addition to writing my own successful applications, I have reviewed and provided detailed feedback on personal statements for fellow medical students and applicants, with a strong emphasis on storytelling, structure, and the principle of showing rather than telling. My goal is to help each applicant create an authentic, memorable personal statement that effectively communicates who they are while staying true to their voice.
Public Speaking

Public Speaking

I have always loved public speaking and have strived to improve myself since I was in high school. In college, I worked as a tour guide where I would speak to groups of 25-50+ attendees commanding their attention and fielding their questions. I attended many leadership sessions on public speaking. I have been a speaker at conferences with 100+ attendees and in 2023, I spoke at the Student National Medical Association (SNMA) American Medical Education Conference to over 500 premedical students.
