Hi! My name is Patri-ca, and I am a medical student with a passion for helping students succeed in the sciences. Throughout my academic journey, I've learned that understanding how to learn is just as important as learning the material itself. Science courses can feel overwhelming, but I believe that with the right guidance, anyone can develop the confidence and skills needed to succeed. My goal is to make difficult concepts approachable while creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
I graduated from the Drexel Pathway to Medical School (DPMS) program and currently serve as a Teaching Assistant, where I work closely with students as they navigate rigorous coursework. I also have previous experience tutoring biology through Wyzant and have expanded my tutoring to include anatomy and physiology. Whether we're reviewing for an exam, working through homework, or strengthening foundational knowledge, I tailor each lesson to the individual student's learning style. Rather than relying on memorization alone, I emphasize active recall, critical thinking, and study strategies that students can continue using long after our sessions end.
One of the most rewarding parts of tutoring is watching a concept finally "click." I know what it's like to struggle with challenging material, and I also know how rewarding it is to overcome those obstacles. My goal is not only to help you improve your grades, but to help you become a more confident, independent learner. I am committed to creating a positive, encouraging learning experience and look forward to helping you achieve your academic goals.
