Want help with the SAT? In the fall of 11th grade, I struggled with the PSAT. I had trouble staying focused for the exam, and my SAT score was projected to be in the 1000s (Reading + Math). Want help with the SAT? In the fall of 11th grade, I struggled with the PSAT. I had trouble staying focused for the exam, and my SAT score was projected to be in the 1000s (Reading + Math). Those results were a kick in the butt. For the next few months, I worked through every prep book I could find. I not only saw drastic score improvements, but I also felt comfortable taking the test. By the end, my SAT Reading + Math peaked at 1350. My score wasn't the greatest, but I proved to myself that hard work does pay off. Adding in my extracurriculars and grades, I was able to get into my dream school, UCLA.
There, I joined Naval ROTC, studied Biochemistry, and worked in a microbiology lab. In my senior year, I interviewed with Naval Reactors and joined the Nuclear Navy. I became a submarine officer, and learned a new meaning of hard work. After 5 years in the submarine community, I transferred to the Engineering Duty Officer (EDO) community in the Navy. From 2022-2024, I found a new love of physics, and earned in an M.S. in Applied Physics. I'm currently working in Groton, CT as an EDO.
So that's my story. I wanted to get into SAT tutoring, and retook the SAT. The digital exam is much different than the exam I took in high school. Still, I was able to score within the top 5% (I know, I have an unfair advantage). I'm working on getting my score higher so I can help my students. I want to learn and improve as much as you do. What do you say? If you're interested, I'd love to chat.
