I am a current 4th year medical student. I make a point to respect the student as a learner; getting things wrong is a natural part of the learning process and is how we learn to improve and grow. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor's of Science in both Molecular Cell Biology and Sociology. I started tutoring 1-on-1 in medical school because I learned that I had a passion for helping my fellow peers learn new material. My peers especially liked how I was able to break down complicated topics. I have since accumulated 2 years of 1-on-1 tutoring in Pre-algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, AP US History, writing, high school chemistry/college general chemistry, biology, college application essay writing, and the MCAT. My students ranged in age from 11 to 34 years old.

For Pre-algebra, Algebra 1, and Geometry, I use a collection of practice worksheets from previous students to help students practice topics in different ways and through repetition. I also use Common Core textbooks to understand where students' school curriculums have reached at a particular time so I can make sure the topics I teach are relevant for their curriculum.

For AP US History (APUSH), I provide students with the study materials I used as high school student that helped me score a 5 on the APUSH exam. I am able to adjust my tutoring sessions as necessary, whether the session be a DBQ/FRQ/LEQ writing workshop, lecture-based content review, or discussion-based content review.

I have worked as a writing center tutor at UCONN for three years where I gained valuable experience in editing and revising as well as instructing students in how to write in various disciplines, ranging from the ecological sciences to introductory English courses. I also helped many students in their graduate essay applications.

BEST TUTOR YOU WONT REGRET!!!

I have been through many tutors, but none compare to Brian. From the very beginning, he made learning feel easy and stress-free. He has a gift for breaking down complex topics in a way that just clicks so easily, and he’s always so patient and encouraging. What really makes him stand out is how dedicated he is — if I’m struggling with a specific question or topic even if it is the day before a test, he’s always willing to stay up late to help me until I get it. When I’ve felt completely stressed and lost in some of my classes, especially chemistry and APUSH, he truly saved me. On top of that, he’s caring and really outgoing, which makes sessions fun and something I actually look forward to. Over time, we’ve built a really great relationship, and I know I can count on him for support with anything. I’ve learned so much from him, and it’s made school feel a lot less overwhelming. I’m so grateful to have had him as a tutor and I highly highly recommend!

Great AP Bio teacher.

My 10th grade daughter had a few AP Bio tutors from Wyzant. She likes Mr. Brian Lee best as AP Bio teacher.

Great support for my teenage son!

Brian has been working with my 15-year-old son on On Ramps chemistry (dual credit for the University of Texas). He makes the learning interesting and entertaining, and above all gives my son the confidence he needs to tackle the difficult class.

Knowledgable, patient, and strategic tutor

Really helped me to understand MCAT techniques and even helped calm me down as to strategies and logic towards the questions. Skilled in both technique and context of the exam. Highly recommend

Worked really well with my son

Brian was able to adapt quickly to my son's learning style, as he prefers to learn by doing. He enabled him to do math problems himself and walk him through his mistakes and successes. He got a 95% on his next test after low 70s.
