I love to motivate students, especially those who have lost confidence in their ability. My greatest challenges and successes in tutoring have been with students who feel they are "behind" in a subject. These students often lack the belief that they will learn, even if they work hard. They need to find evidence of success that they can then use to motivate themselves. My job as tutor is to reinforce any and all progress so these students can begin to see themselves in a new way, as a success in school. My upbeat personality, knowledge of learning, role modeling and gentle guidance has enabled me to help many students go beyond their wildest dreams in the last 6 years. Working with struggling students of all ages has taught me how important it is to possess patience, a sense of humor and the ability to instill a belief in students that they can and will succeed.

I have tutored all levels from 6th through 12th grade for the past 6 years and am a Connecticut certified teacher. I have worked with great success in the Norwalk and Westport public schools and offer you particular skill in addressing needs of students with low co

Excellent and Patient Tutor

Eve is a very knowledgeable tutor overall. I came to her needing help with the Praxis 2 5002 subtest (Reading and Language). We worked together everyday up until the day I scheduled to take my test. The sessions typically were about an hour, but if I needed more than that time, she happily obliged. We worked on multiple practice test questions and she made sure I understood why I got a question incorrect. She is huge on making sure the student (myself) understands the concept of a question before moving on to the next. Eve has a great personality and is easy to talk to. She definitely wants to help all students succeed. I give her 5 stars!! - Emily, 8 Lessons

WOAH

Eve is a GODSEND. I needed someone to take a final look for my grad school statement essays and found her at the last minute. She's not only caring, but she sees what you can bring to the table and enhances your voice. She took her time to speak to me on the phone and together, we made a game plan on how to accomplish what I wanted in the next few days (which was a lot). Communicating with her was super easy despite the fact that we were tutoring via internet. By the end of our final tutoring session, I had this confidence about my grad school application that I didn't have previously. It no longer mattered to me if I got in the school or not, because the essay Eve and I created together was able to accurately portray who I am. I highly recommend Eve. I look forward to working with her again and recommend her to my peers who need writing assistance!

Very helpful tutor

Eve helped me with economics for my Praxis II exam. She gave me practice tests and helped me concentrate on how to properly answer questions on the Praxis exam which can be confusing and stressful. She was very open with scheduling and made time for me when I needed it!

Highly highly recommend

My son has had Eve help him with SAT tutoring (English and math) and his college application essay. She was amazing, and that is not an exaggeration. My son has a strong personality sometimes when it comes to being taught and she was patient and always listened to him. She always showed him respect. She split the SAT time so he got attention on the sections he needed help with the most. Once he finished with the SAT lessons she began with the essay. What impressed me the most was she guided him, listened to him, and pushed him, but never forced anything. Even though she would recommend what should be said, it always is written in his voice. Her voice and opinion are not noticable, all you read is my sons voice. You will not be disappointed!

Excellent Tutor

Eve is extremely knowledgeable and patient. She listens and helps formulate a game plan. She has an intuitive sense in terms of her approach to my daughter and the material. They have made tremendous progress in the months that they have worked together. My daughter was not thrilled when I first introduced the idea of finding a math tutor. The first few visits she was skeptical. After that, she began to ask me when Eve was coming again! I never hear any complaints anymore. My daughter will be ready to tackle pre-algebra in 7th grade!
