I was accepted into Teach For America, a highly selective program (10% of applicants are accepted) aimed at ending educational inequity by training people to teach in impoverished neighborhoods. My training consisted of teaching Algebra I in a summer school for high school students on the south side. I proceeded to teach 7th grade English language arts and mathematics at Spry Community School in Little Village. While working at Spry I developed my math curriculum as well of co-developed the English curriculum.
Currently, I am a Senior Software Engineer at a government consulting company. I have been writing clean, maintainable code (and tests) for over a decade.
