I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Geophysics with Geology from the globally outstanding college Durham University and a Post-graduate Certificate in Education specializing in Physics from the well-regarded college Bristol University in England. Since 2016, I have worked as a fully certified science teacher in public high school settings and a science/math tutor, initially in England and now in Connecticut. Tutoring offers me an incredible opportunity to see individual students improve their academic performance significantly.
My individualized-learning approach leads me to create a bespoke pathway for each student I tutor to maximize growth within their chosen subject. For example, I helped a previous tutee prepare for an AP physics exam by splitting our time between visualizing the most challenging concepts applied to real-world examples and developing test-taking strategies. In contrast, I supported a different tutee with SAT math prep by helping them absorb all the information necessary to solve the problems. When they encountered similar questions on the SAT, they found them straightforward.
I am very patient and always willing to listen to the student and their parent or guardian. I promptly reply to all requests and try to the best of my ability to ensure the student can fully grasp the material.
