Hi everyone! My name is Samantha and I am a fourth-year medical student in New York. I graduated Cum Laude from the University of Connecticut with a B.A. in Psychological Sciences and a B.S. in Allied Health Sciences. I am planning on specializing in neurology. I am passionate about helping pre-med and medical students on their journey to become the next generation of physicians. I have several years of tutoring experience at the high school, undergraduate, graduate, and professional school levels.
I scored a 272 on Step 2 CK (99th percentile). I increased my Step 2 score from 238 to 272 in four weeks. I passed Step 1 on the first attempt in 2024. I honored nearly all of my clinical rotations and consistently scored highly on shelf exams. I took the MCAT in Spring 2021 scoring 88th percentile. Throughout my academic career, I have developed various study and test-taking skills I hope to be able to share with you or your student.
I believe everyone has a limitless capacity to learn and grow in their knowledge base and academic skills. I want to help students find clarity in topics they may struggle with. Active recall and practice problems are my gold standard of study strategies. I plan to work with you or your student to build study skills while learning. This would include reviewing practice problems in depth and having you or your student explain each correct and incorrect answer, starting with an active recall of materials based on learning objectives, and utilizing various resources to synthesize long-term understanding. My goal is to help students learn the material so that they can effectively apply the material in new situations and retain the information.
