Hello! I am a current student at Stanford University majoring in bioengineering. I have certainly developed a passion for tutoring over the last four years. Throughout high school, I had always been known to give extra help in school to classmates, family friends, and really anyone who asked. I set up my own small system of volunteer tutoring which began to occupy a significant amount of my free time. Since coming to college, this is something that I really missed at first! During my time here at Stanford, I have spent many hours tutoring online using different online tutoring websites to help students in elementary, middle, and high school to gain essential skills in schoolwork. Something unique about my tutoring services is that I prefer to look deeper than teaching students simply how to get the right answer. I have found that explaining how students can derive information for themselves instead of memorizing patterns has provided many of my students with success.
SAT Math is something I have tutored a lot of in the past and although the COVID-19 pandemic prevented me from taking the SAT, this was a last minute cancellation and I still finished full preparation and studying for the test. In my final three practice exams that I took, I scored 790, 800, 800 in the math section which demonstrates my qualifications for tutoring this subject.
The PSAT is a test that I was very successful in. I was a National Merit Scholarship recipient, with only two incorrect answers on the entire test, yielding a nearly perfect score of 1490. I have also thoroughly tutored students in this subject previously.
Writing is something that I am passionate about and I have studied significantly. I took multiple AP classes in high school regarding writing and literature, receiving no grades lower than an A. I have also taken introductory writing courses here at Stanford, receiving the same grade of an A.
