High School Tutor with strong math, reading and writing skills

Hello, my name is Cassie and I currently work as a tutor with a local, public Connecticut high school. Through this position I have accumulated 50+ hours of experience. Primarily, I work as an Algebra tutor, but I am also well-versed in other basic math courses (pre-algebra, geometry, statistics to name a few). As a former Sociology major, I have very strong reading and writing skills that can aid in proofreading, extracting important information from books, passages, and/or other literary works, and thinking critically about these works.
I enjoy tutoring because it allows me to utilize my lifelong passion of learning and, hopefully, pass that passion on to younger generations of learners. Though learning is not always easy, it is always satisfying; there is no greater feeling than facing a problem you do not understand at first and then working through it to find the correct answer. This feeling is what I hope to help students achieve. My goal is to help them identify the problems they are working, what parts of the problems they understand and do not understand, and then working with them as they move through the problem-solving process to get to the answer of the problem.
Please note that as of 9/25/2022, I will no longer be offering online algebra tutoring; I will be working with math students in person only. However, I will continue to offer proofreading services remotely.
