I have dedicated more than twenty-five years to educating elementary-aged students, both as a classroom teacher and as an Assistant Principal in a 3K-5 school. My background includes teaching all core subjects, supporting diverse learners, and helping students build confidence through clear, structured instruction. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education, a Master's in Literacy Studies, and a Master's in Educational Leadership, along with New York State certification in Elementary Education and Special Education.
Since 2006, I have served as an Assistant Principal, where I coach teachers, lead curriculum planning, analyze student data, and support individualized learning plans. Before moving into administration, I taught fifth grade using the workshop model, TERC Investigations math, small-group instruction, and differentiated approaches designed to help every student succeed. My experience working closely with families and collaborating with instructional teams has strengthened my ability to understand each child's needs.
In addition to my school leadership work, I have tutored students for more than twenty years in reading, writing, mathematics, and foundational skills. I focus on creating a calm, encouraging environment where students can build understanding step by step. My approach blends explicit teaching, guided practice, and continuous feedback, helping young learners make steady progress and feel proud of their accomplishments.
