I'm a National Merit Semifinalist and high-achieving high school senior with a 1550 SAT, and I love helping students build real confidence in challenging classes. I've earned 4s and 5s on AP Computer Science A, AP Precalculus, AP Calculus AB, AP U.S. History, AP English Language, and AP Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, and I bring that same level of preparation and organization to every tutoring session. Because I'm actively using these skills myself, I'm able to explain concepts in plain language, show students exactly how to avoid common mistakes, and share test-taking strategies that actually work.
I have several years of tutoring experience with both elementary and middle/high school students through a free community program I founded, Open Doors Tutoring. With younger students, I focus on patience, encouragement, and breaking down problems into concrete, visual steps so they don't feel overwhelmed. One parent of a 4th grader shared that her son went from daily homework meltdowns to "finishing every session with a smile" because he finally felt like he "gets it" and had strategies that fit his learning style. Another parent of a 5th grader said her son had "struggled with math for many years" but now looks forward to tests and solving problems in front of others in class after working together each week.
Parents of even the youngest students have seen a shift not just in grades but in attitude. A 2nd grade parent told me that after trying other online options, her daughter only began to enjoy math once we started working together, and that my patient explanations and ability to find the right approach made the difference. Whether I'm helping an elementary student feel safe asking questions or guiding an AP student toward a 4 or 5, my sessions are structured, supportive, and tailored to each learner. My goal is always the same: turn confusion into clarity, and anxiety into confidence.
