Bio

I am a New York City public school teacher who currently teaches Algebra Common Core, Geometry Common Core and AP Calculus AB. I have experience teaching all levels of mathematics from 6th grade math through Calculus. This experience includes Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Precalculus and AP Calculus. I have been teaching in New York City for over 5 years and have experience working will all age levels.

I have also tutored for the last 7 years with various ages, including middle school through high school seniors studying for their SAT. I think that all students have the ability to do well in mathematics with one-on-one tutoring. Some students just need the extra attention they cannot always receive in the classroom! I love to work with children to not only develop their mathematics skills but also their math confidence! With practice, everyone can be a mathematician!

I have tutored SAT and ACT mathematics for the last year to high school juniors. I like to have students work through problems and go over both their misconceptions and strategies to solve problems.
Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I have taught high school Algebra for the last 9 years. I have experience with both the old New York State Regents Exams and with the new Common Core exams. I love to help students work through problem solving and to give them new ways to look at problems when they are struggling with methods they learn in class.

I have taught high school Algebra 2 for the last 6 years in New York City. I also teach higher level mathematics so I have a good sense of what students will need to know from Algebra 2 to be successful in later mathematics classes.
Calculus

I have taught high school AP Calculus AB for the last 5 years. In addition to teaching high school calculus, I have tutored students for the AP Calculus exam and the students each received a 5. With hard work and extra help, many students have the ability to not only pass the AP exam but can do extremely well - even get a high qualifying score of a 5!

I currently teach high school geometry and am introducing the new Common Core curriculum in my school. I love to work with high school students and believe they all have the ability to be successful in math with the right tools.
