Hello! My name is Elizabeth, and I am a Harvard graduate with a degree in Government, a secondary in History, and a certificate in Latin American Studies. During my time at Harvard, I worked for three years as a student intern in the Undergraduate Admissions Office, where I managed correspondence with prospective students and gained insight into what makes a college application stand out. That experience deepened my interest in education and mentorship, and I have since worked closely with students to navigate every stage of the college application process. From selecting schools and shaping an authentic narrative to writing and editing essays, I help students present their strongest possible applications. My students have been admitted to top universities including Yale, Brown, Cornell, Tufts, Washington University in St. Louis, NYU, UC Santa Barbara, and Dartmouth.
I have several years of tutoring experience across different subjects and age groups. I began as a Kumon tutor, where I worked with elementary school students to strengthen their reading, writing, and math skills. Over time, I expanded my work to include AP U.S. History, AP U.S. Government, AP Spanish, English as a Second Language, and Portuguese. I earned a score of 5 on all of these AP exams and help students prepare by focusing on comprehension, organization, and critical thinking.
As a native speaker of both English and Portuguese and fluent in Spanish, I bring a strong understanding of how language and culture connect. I tailor each session to the student’s goals, helping them improve fluency, build confidence, and identify common challenges like false cognates. Whether I am helping a young student learn to read or a high school senior refine a college essay, I aim to make learning clear, supportive, and engaging.
