Hi!
My name is Robert, and I am a dual-certified elementary grades 1-6 and special education teacher. I also work for a nonprofit organization as a teacher for their GED preparedness classes covering math, science, reading, writing, and social studies at the high school level. I am experienced in remediating skills from kindergarten to the high school level and work to create a space of safety, perseverance, and fun to create positive learning outcomes.
My passion is for supporting struggling readers. I have been practicing Orton-Gillingham informed structured literacy instruction for over six years. I specialize in supporting students with phonological and/or orthographic struggles to overcome and improve their reading skills. Another passion I have developed through my GED and special education experience is for mathematics, including supporting students to develop number sense, procedural fluency, and conceptual understanding leading to improved mathematical skills. I am also experienced in teaching virtually and am able, through dynamic instruction and engaging materials, to engage learners for positive outcomes.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions! I look forward to supporting learners at any level with any challenges!
