I am certified MSed educated instructor with experience tutoring and in-classroom teaching of K-4 grades. I work with all children from all different backgrounds in learning. Having been an classroom instructor and tutor gives me the flexibility to understand specific areas of improvement tailored to each student.
I have experience in reading intervention, literacy, guided reading, targeted reading practice, phonics, and enhancing spelling and vocabulary. I support students based on data driven instruction by reviewing their rate, accuracy and reading comprehension skills. I provide instruction based on the students needs as an ongoing process.
In terms of writing, I teach students how to self monitor, edit and revise their writing by breaking down different types of writing and how to approach the different styles. I provide skills and processes on how to brain storm, stay on topic and elaborate on ideas.
