Welcome! I am an experienced math and science educator with over 20 years of experience teaching all learners in the areas of math and science. I received my Bachelors in Chemistry from the University of Delaware, and my Masters in Science Education from Montana State University. I also hold an Associates in Chemistry Technology from Delaware Tech.
I hold a valid teaching license in Colorado, and have been teaching in public, private, and alternative learning environments in Delaware, DC/Virginia, and Colorado. I have years of experience leading science departments as the science department chair and have mentored teachers in supporting them in crafting great lessons. My success in teaching relies in my experience supporting a diverse range of learners, and my unique ability to quickly form a professional but accessible relationship with my students and acutely determine the obstacles that prevent them from learning, whether the student has a learning disability or is struggling with an AP class or preparing for the ACT exam.
In my 20 years of teaching and tutoring, I have witnessed my students be accepted and thrive in ivy league schools such Harvard, Yale and Columbia, among other rigorous universities. I love teaching in both group and 1:1 capacities, and I receive such joy when I hear that "aha" moment from a student who has finally mastered that concept that had previously been a mystery and source of great frustration.
In addition to math and science education, I am also an experienced executive functioning coach, supporting students in their organizational endeavors in order to lead a life of success.
I look forward to working with you! Please reach out to schedule a lesson.
