I'm Rylie! I have a Bachelor of Arts from Creighton University, where I majored in Psychology and Biology. I began my college career as a Pre-Medicine student but quickly realized that Microbiology wasn’t a subject I wanted to study for the rest of my life. My passion shifted towards Psychology, Anthropology, and Healthcare Management. I decided to major in Psychology while continuing to pursue a major in Biology, driven by my fascination with Anatomy and Physiology — a decision I’m grateful for, as it deepened my love for these subjects. After graduating, I enrolled in Graduate School, earning a Master of Public Health with concentrations in Epidemiology and Healthcare Management. I now work in Clinical Research, where I have the opportunity to learn and grow every day.
During my undergraduate years, I tutored one-on-one lessons in General Biology, Anatomy, Physiology, Clinical and Abnormal Psychology, and Medical Anthropology. I also volunteered as a tutor for elementary and middle school students in Science and Social Studies.
Throughout my tutoring experience, I have embraced a personalized and active learning approach. I believe that every lesson should be tailored to the student's unique learning style. I have solely conducted one-on-one tutoring lessons where I make it a priority to understand each student's strengths, weaknesses, and preferred learning methods (whether visual, reading, or auditory) to ensure they leave each session feeling understood and confident. My sessions are always student-focused, with an emphasis on hands-on activities and two-way discussions to enhance learning. I have found that applying methods and concepts to real-world situations is the most effective way to learn, and I continue to use this practice as a tutor. I enjoy working with adolescents of all ages, college students, and adults.
