I attended high school at Denver School of the Arts where I discovered my desire to teach and my love for the arts and humanities. After studying at Colorado State University and earning my BA in English Education, I completed my student teaching at Columbine High School and spent some time substitute teaching in Jefferson County. I then moved to San Pedro Sula, Honduras where I spent three years teaching English 11, English 12, Creative Writing, and AP English Language and Composition at a private American International School. I was also the Student Council Teacher Advisor and Cross Country Coach.

I am currently living in Denver, Colorado, where I lead a girls's youth group, volunteer with various youth-based non-profit organizations, and pursue my passion for endurance sports. I have run 11 full marathons, 15 half marathons, and completed 7 bike tours. I also enjoy cooking, hiking with my dachshund, and reading both fiction and nonfiction.

I am a highly qualified secondary English Language Arts educator with 4 years of classroom experience including writing and delivering curriculum instruction for students in grades 10, 11, and 12. I have a Great Books Certificate and an AP Language and Composition Certification. I am well-versed in the Common Core standards and Understanding by Design unit development that are important for a holistic 21st century education.

Working with students to achieve their academic goals is my life's passion, and I look forward to working with you to prepare you with all the English skills you need for a successful future. I look forward to working with you!
