I am a seasoned educator who is passionate about helping students master math. I have over 10 years of tutoring and classroom teaching in mathematics. I especially enjoy helping students one-one and have worked with children of all ages and abilities. I help my students to fully understand and master the foundational concepts of mathematics so that they truly achieve quantitative literacy. I am a seasoned educator who is passionate about helping students master math. I have over 10 years of tutoring and classroom teaching in mathematics. I especially enjoy helping students one-one and have worked with children of all ages and abilities. I help my students to fully understand and master the foundational concepts of mathematics so that they truly achieve quantitative literacy. This enables them to move forward and succeed in whatever life may throw their way. I specialize in Foundational Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry and Algebra 2. I have also worked with students who are working towards career changes and advancement by tutoring them through Nursing entrance exams, Praxis, and other Quantitative Literacy programs that employers are requiring.

I am available to work with my students via online platforms or in home and am open to helping as little or as much as needed. Whether you need help getting through a course, preparing for a test, catching up, brushing up, or just mastering a specific concept I can help!

I have quite a bit of experience working with students from all types of backgrounds and abilities. I am patient and able to recognize when a student is feeling overwhelmed and am able to challenge my students without frustrating them. My goal as an educator is to encourage my students to have a growth mindset regarding mathematics. I strive to light the fire of excitement for a subject that is so necessary in life, yet so feared by many.

I have a Bachelors of Science degree in Mathematics with an emphasis in secondary education. With this, I have tutored and taught 100s of students over the past two decades and have many grateful parents and students who can attest to the benefits of their time spent with me.

GED: I have taught all subjects at the middle and high school levels. In order for students to pass their GED, they need to be well versed in all subjects. I perform a pre-assessment in order to determine areas that are weak and then we work on those concepts. After that we practice and learn test taking strategies and I share tips for alleviating test anxiety. Students who work with me are able to confidently complete their GED and move forward successfully.

Over 20 years experience teaching and tutoring math at all levels, specializing in Middle and High school Math subjects. I assist students in learning the foundational math concepts in order to apply them to higher level math. Instead of a formulaic approach to mathematics I teach for understanding so that my students are able to reason through solutions to real life problems on their own.

I love helping students to 'crack the code' when it comes to trig, taking all of the mystery out of solving triangles, working with trig identities, special triangles, and graphing. You'll find that trig is actually really fun, once you understand it!
